“I would like to note the obligation Kazakhstan has assumed is that 50% of all its energy will be generated by alternative sources. I am confident that the Green Technologies International Centre launched by President Nazarbayev in 2017 will be a good instrument for Kazakhstan to take the lead in fulfilling those obligations the worldwide,” said Ban Ki-moon at the Global Challenges Summit 2018.
Ban congratulated Kazakhstan for its initiative in green economy and discussed science innovation, education exchange, green energy, and technology development cooperation, stressing the need to address sustainable development.
Global Challenges Summit 2018 is transformed from Astana Economic Forum, Kazakhstan’s leading conference on economic matters, which demonstrates the country’s new status in the international discourse.
