Project Name: “Abriendo Puertas – Opening Doors”
There are no Bachelor degrees in Development Studies or Global Studies in Bolivian universities as is the case
in other countries which leads to a lack of a deeper understanding of the complex multidisciplinary development challenges and the advancement towards the 2030 Agenda among students. To respond to this challenge, Nicole’s project empowered 15 postgraduate students of different ages and cities of Bolivia by imparting them a series of lectures and a workshop to: 1) provide a deeper understanding on the multidisciplinary challenges of development, 2) raise awareness on the importance of gender equality for development, and 3) teach how to design gender-sensitive indicators and include them in proposals for development projects.
