Cluster I – Concretizing the Blueprint for Action

Timeline: February 2018 – December 2020

The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens will produce a series of publications which will serve to further the Centre’s “Blueprint for Action”. The two initial guidance booklets, “SDG Implementation and Multi-stakeholder Partnerships” and “SDGs: Global Citizenship and Youth,” will become key resources for the further development of the Centre’s “Blueprint for Action.” The “SDG Implementation and Multi-stakeholder Partnerships” publication will be developed from the results of the Global Engagement and Empowerment Forum 2018 (GEEF) and the “SDGs: Global Citizenship and Youth” will be written after the second annual Advisory Board meeting 2018.

The importance of engaging multi-stakeholders at all levels has been repeatedly recognized at international conferences and remains present in the global discourse surrounding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the post-2030 Agenda. In addition to the importance of activities at the national and international, the active engagement and leadership of non-traditional actors like businesses, civil society groups, volunteer groups, universities and youth working in concrete partnerships and voluntary commitments for the implementation of sustainable development, are essential.

Following the initial two publications for 2018, the project will continue with the production of additional guidance booklets based on the two Advisory Board meetings held yearly and as well as the subsequent GEEFs (2019, 2020). This will continue to deepen the Centre’s “Blueprint for Action” moving forward, elaborating on themes that align with the Centre’s core mandates: advocacy, education, leadership, and mediation and the work for global citizenship in the framework of the SDGs.
