Applications for the 2020 Global Citizen Scholarship Program are now closed!
The Global Citizen Scholars Program (GC Scholars Program) was initiated by the Ban Ki-moon Centre in 2018, as a program to support exceptional young people to participate in an international conference, benefit from a tailor-made, short-term academic training and develop their own SDG Micro-Projects. For the first two years of the Program, the scholarship was carried out in partnership with European Forum Alpbach in Tyrol, Austria. The scholars selected for the first two cohorts ranged form 20-30 years of age, were nationals of countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and were currently completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree. These 10 GC Scholars have now become part of the GC Scholar Alumni Network of the Ban Ki-moon Centre.
The overall goal of the Global Citizen Scholars Program, is to empower young, active global citizens who are engaged for the SDGs and may otherwise not have access to valuable educational opportunities, networking experiences, and peer-to-peer exchange. The scholarship includes the chance to attend renowned international fora, interact and network with high-level change-makers, access specialized educational seminars and trainings, and benefit from peer-to-peer exchange.
