As global attention turns to UNFCCC COP30 in Belém, it is necessary to elevate food and agricultural systems as essential levers for climate adaptation and mitigation, highlighting strategic investment pathways to bolster climate resilience, ensure long-term food and economic security, and support nature-positive food and agricultural systems.

Immediately prior to the kick off of COP30, WWF and partners are hosting a high-level, action-oriented convening in Santos, Brazil  – designed to accelerate bold, integrated solutions across food systems, climate and biodiversity, and build alignment for lasting impact.

The Santos convening will provide an intimate and collaborative space in which participants can engage in deeper discussions, share strategies and co-create solutions. The focus will be on identifying the gaps that remain for food and agricultural systems transformation, and on building the bridges between adaptation, mitigation, food, climate, and conservation.

Organizers: Government of Brazil- Ministry of Social Development and Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger, Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, Biovision Foundation, FAIRR Initiative, Global Citizens, Global Alliance for the Future of Food, CIAT-Bioversity CGIAR, YPARD, WWF, Climate Focus, Climateworks Foundation and One Planet Network SFS Programme.

Partners: Agroecology Coalition, Climate Champions, IUCN, NDC Partnership, UN Foundation, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, WBCSD.
