Online courses
We have three self-paced and free online courses developed with partners such as the Yonsei University and APCEIU. The courses have several modules which also include an open forum to share your own opinions on the topics as well as any questions.
Your Future in Green Jobs
Designed for people of 14-20 years old, this course aims to empower youth to connect their passion, interests, and skills with meaningful careers that address climate change head-on. This self-paced course consists of 6 modules and is full of interactive assignments, videos and plenty of new information and reflection spaces for learners to explore climate change and their role in tackling it.
Sustainable development in the 21st century
The course is structured around the five pillars of Agenda 2030 – people, prosperity, planet, peace and justice, and partnership, students will learn that these pillars are interconnected and need to be integrated in practical policy-making and operational activities for development, in both developed and developing country settings.
Becoming global citizens for a sustainable society
The course is for anyone who would like to learn more about the SDGs and how to act as a global citizen. The lectures feature global and national leaders such as former Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, former Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, and former President of Austria Heinz Fischer as well as experts and advocates from different fields and sectors.
Gender equality and women’s empowerment: a pathway to sustainable development
This course focuses on gender issues and women empowerment. The course features SDG 5 advocates such as Chair of The Elders Mary Robinson, previous President of Ireland and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Executive Director of UN Women Phumzile Mlambo-ngcuka, Youth Envoy to the UNSG Jayathma Wickramanayake, and many more.
SDG Micro-Projects
We encourage and train young global citizens all over the globe to undertake Sustainable Development Goals projects in their local communities.
SDG Micro-Projects are initiatives created and implemented by Ban Ki-moon Centre fellows, mentees, or scholars who tackle one or more of the on a local, national, or international level. The projects vary in size and concept carrying the common goal to find a solution for the challenges faced in achieving Agenda2030.
