The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2025 “Youth AgriChampions – make young African farmers be heard” program. This milestone marks the culmination of months of dedication, collaboration, and several impactful discussions between our inspiring young changemakers. Already in its fourth edition, this initiative brings together youth grassroots voices from the world of smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship across the African continent to share their on-the-ground experiences with adapting their practices to climate change.

This year’s Youth AgriChampions cohort included 18 smallholder farmers and agri-preneurs and focused on the theme of “Youth-Powered Agroecology: Building Climate Resilience for Smallholder Farmers ”. Together, they collaborated on a Demand Paper, containing their three main demands aimed at building the resilience of smallholder farmers in the face of the climate crisis.
