The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is honored to share that Former UN Secretary-General and BKMC Co-chair Ban Ki-moon has been elected as an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Honour Member – an outstanding recognition of his leadership as Chair of the IOC Ethics Commission.
Co-chair Ban gained this title at the 144th IOC Session in Costa Navarino, Greece, during which Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe was elected as the 10th President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Congratulations to Kirsty Coventry for making history as the first female President of the IOC—an incredible milestone for the empowerment of women and girls in sports!
